Airwaves 07:06
Light the fire, Burn the sky Ride the cloud line Higher and higher On and on On and on On and on I see the Earth Fall behind I can see heaven In my mind On and on On and on On and on Ahh On and on On and on On and on On and on I can’t turn around The future has passed And nothing will stop me As I head for the stars Ahh
2.
Egyptian 04:38
The scent of lotus blossom hovers in the air Beside the Nile a temple reaches the sky All the kings and the queens of Egypt assemble one by one The gods have brought them all here to come alive The sound of mystical drums and trumpets cuts through the breeze A seated pharaoh stands up to leave his throne All the people stand quiet in wonder they wait to hear his words Silence fills the humid evening air Bowing to you, resurrect your life Amun Ra my god, where have you been? A fanfare plays as creature shadows cross the walls It highlights writings by scribes that teach us about it all All the years of light cascading through alabaster jars Kings and queens now breath again but death befits them all Bowing to you, resurrect your life Amun Ra my god, where have you been?
3.
I see an eagle on the wing And he’s busy going nowhere I rest my spine to the ground And watch him coming out of somewhere Time to dream I do what I do Go where I go I will be free Come and talk to me But I’m busy going nowhere Come and take my hand Let us escape of to somewhere Time to dream I know what I know Like what I see And I will be free Free Now watch me run away > Run away from it all And I'll pretend I’m going somewhere > Somewhere in time Tomorrow’s another day > I’ll just speak another day And I’ve nothing else to say > No one hears me anyway Time to dream I’ve nothing to lose I’m lost where you’re found But I remain free I’ll be free, time to dream
4.
Window 07:50
Here today, gone tomorrow Do you remember yesterday? Childhood smiles become ageing sorrow Have you forgot what was today Has life passed you by? Did that bird ever fly? Staring out from your window I see you count the cars hurtling by Was your life like a race to the end The chequered flag waves goodbye But it’s never over If you look after number one If you feel you’re always losing Just tell yourself life’s just begun Don’t let those wheels stop turning Make sure your rock will roll Don’t give in you must stand strong and proud Just by knowing who you are Strike a pose and show them all what you know Tell them what’s in your head so far I guess what I’m trying to say is > What are you trying to say? I’ve got a whole lot of faith in you > I’ve got a similar faith in you I think it’s sad to see you ever losing > Losing’s nowhere in my mind Cos you’re a winner through and through It’s getting late and I’ve got to go now But I’m always there for you
5.
Holy Blues 06:06
Here comes that old cliché How can something be so wrong yet feel so ok? And just when you think you’ve got nothing else to lose Life shows you, ooh yes you do Cos you’ve got the holy rocking rollin’ blues Wise words from a sad old man You’ve got nothing else to do so just keep rolling, rolling through We’ve done nothing wrong but we get nothing right So just put it all in a song and I’ll sing it to you Oh it’s like the time when you relax with nothing more to do Then life shows you, oh yes you do And when you hope that those bad times will never come again Oh life shows you, oooh yes they do, yes they do When you’ve got the holy rocking rollin’ blues Ooohhh, do you feel like you’ve got so much to say You don’t wanna keep it all inside in whatever way Cos it’s a small man who hides and it takes a big man to cry Oh, doing all the things you do although you’re wrong cos you might just get it right Get it right someday, someway And when you feel that you’ve nowhere, nowhere else to go Well I will show you, ooh yes you do, yes you do Whooo, and I will carry you, cos I’m strong Hey, I will show you we all mean something, yes we do, yes we do, we all do Oh, yes you do, yes you do Even when you’ve got those holy rocking blues
6.
He’s climbing up to see how high he needs to be, escaping what’s below Claws are scratching, penetrating stone There lies beneath him forever chasing serpents and monsters Oh how he finds himself so tiny Getting higher, raising hope that soon he evades capture Once he’s feeling safe and sure he breaks and takes a sip of nectar From the smallest flower only he doth know Legs are aching, tail is dragging he finds a hollow in the shade It’s here that he reflects on life Feeling high with full relief that he evaded capture Oh, he feels the sun He’s as high as he can go Many fall victim They all climb too slow But now he feels the warm embrace of survival Survival Now he’s covered in leaves Keeping scent away from the breeze Keep your head down, keep your head down Cos only he will know how he’ll ever grow Keep those eyes open and your ears might save you Oh, he feels the sun . . . (Reprise) It’s time to escape, make our way from the dark We’re looking for the meaning to give life a spark I’m sorry to say, that life is a test Where some of us climb above from the rest Although you might fall, or the climb is too great Grab with both hands like it’s never too late
7.
England 04:51
Am I a common Englishman with undetermined blood, I’m feeling so confused living’s not enough I miss my mother all the time but I’m doing fine In England, in England But save me from the man I am I’m full of bruises now but it’s damage I can heal, it’s all the things inside my head that I still feel When I’m over here with daddy, my mummy’s far away In England, in England But save me from the man I am Save me from the man The politics of being me has had you both in chains, but neither of you have much regard for all my aches and pains If I’m to be forgotten now then let me sleep in peace for I am still a baby, waiting for release In England, in England But save me from the man I am There was a boy who had no place, he never knew his part His life was caught between two places tearing at his heart There is a place that he has found and no-one hurts him there And should you ever hear his name, act is if you care He’s just another Englishman with undetermined blood, he’s feeling so confused living’s not enough He might have worked things out someday Instead he gave it all away In England, in England In England, in England He said, I know the man I am
8.
Gambler 05:36
It’s the way they call the numbers It’s the way the dice will fall It doesn’t matter what the numbers are It’s chance that fools you all Now you’re hoping for a win But what you gonna do in case you lose Spinning that roulette wheel Throwing those old dice Seeing how the deck was dealt Is how you pay the price And take your chances You must be disappointed Cos after all to lose would be a sin How do you judge the prizes? When you know you’re gonna lose before you win You’re the gambler Gentlemen place your bets please Ladies lay your cards on the table It doesn’t matter if your luck is in It’s fate that rules us all Is there a chance that you might win But it’s really paper, scissors, stone? Spinning that old bottle Poker faced you pray That no-one sees you cheating If it’s the only way you play Take your chances
9.
Gospel 04:27
I’d just like to say, there’s enough beauty all around In all the things I’ve found on the way Ohh but we’ve gotta realise that if we blow it all away We’ll be left here as fools in the end Oh by the way, mother nature’s the one She’ll always pull through, she prevails Yeah, but all I see is us destroying the land I watch the sun, sea and sky fade away Where’s the colours of the rainbow? Where are those golden sands? The world could be rescued if we all lend a hand There’s enough here for everyone There’s a forest for all Plant more trees for humanity Or just watch them fall No lies No more fear No more envy No more greed No more jealousy No, no more pain Feed, feed the world No hate > If there were no lies No more lies > No more fear No more fear > No more envy No more envy > We’d have no more greed No more greed > No more jealousy Jealousy no > We’d have no more pain No more, no more pain > So no-one goes hungry Feed the world > We’d have no more hate Then we’d say goodbye to war
10.
The lights are dim, the play’s a grim tale you’ve heard before The orchestra bows an unknown score You’d give your life for a little more time, time to learn Now the finale is over, over and done Every line on every face, shadow falls beyond the lace Just as the rose that blooms in the springtime It seems so long ago to me, but it was yesterday for you Your game is over, you know in your heart Yesterday’s promises kiss you goodbye Faded bouquets lay with the memories kept in your shrine But still you believe the spotlight shines for you Every line on every face, shadow falls beyond the lace Just as the rose that blooms in the springtime It seems so long ago to me, but it was yesterday for you * Every line on every face, shadow falls beyond the lace Just as the rose that blooms in the springtime It seems so long ago to me, but it was yesterday for you

about

RANDOM EARTH PROJECT

Ethos:
The Random Earth Project is a core collective of four musicians, each with longevity, respect and a passion for the Progressive music they compose, craft and create, occasionally combined with additional components (the invited) to supplement meter, timbre, melody and rhythm.

Presence: [ W E B S I T E ]
www.randomearthproject.com

‘Airwaves’ is a beginning, and being, succinctly, the debut release from the Random Earth Project. With much material circulating in the REP’s orbit there is a constant and ever evolving process of creation and arrangement, the output of which continually challenges, often re-drawing the boundary line within the musical genre, style and what is ‘expected’. But the question is “What IS expected?” This is where the word Random falls. Expectation from the REP is not in their dictionary, their bible, and why should it be?
More than a Project. A way of Music.

THE REP COAT-HOOK/PIGEON-HOLE:
“Elements of 67 Progressive progression with a
21st Century application.”

RANDOM EARTH PROJECT (REP)
: quadruple collective and mainstay of virtuosity, creating organic Progressive music within a realistic framework, accessible to the masses.

RANDOM
: being, or relating to a set, or to an element of a set, each of whose elements has equal probability of occurrence.

EARTH
: worldly, or temporal matters as opposed to the
concerns of the spirit.

PROGRESSIVE
: moving forward, or onward, advancing.

Each and all are indicative to the final overall sonic ethos of the Project.
