A story, an insight no less, of ‘Airwaves’.

Each piece on this album is very much a collaboration, with ‘Airwaves’ being a prime example. This started life as a musical doodle from Carleton during the second Lockdown period, with Trev idly adding the bass line. Over time this formed the second section of ‘Airwaves’ with Kym and Larry adding their contributions to this and the section that preceded. At this point the working title (‘Thing’) became ‘Airwaves’. The rest followed suit.

Carleton has circulated within this genre for many years, often working in tandem with Kym and now in the REP with both Larry and Trev. A fine body of material lies in wait. For twelve years, in a well-known ‘interpretational’ band, Kym has honed his Progressive voice, now blossoming further with the REP; often compared with, “The hue of Gabriel”. Larry and Trev’s love of the genre go back to the very beginning of Prog Rock itself, having played together in one of the Midlands more well-known Symphonic Prog Rock bands. The REP is very much ‘full circle’ - a rekindling - and ‘Airwaves’ combines these four musicians, this music, in an endearing and tantalising combination.

A commissioned film for ‘Airwaves’, by notable film & TV director/producer Ross Eaglesham can be found on social media. A perspective of Kym’s evocative lyrics. Timeless & ever-changing travel, on the craft we all inhabit.
